As a female with ADHD, I know the complexity and struggles that come with being neurodivergent.
I’ll help you break things down, giving you easy and actionable steps to experiment with in your own life.
The most notable struggles people with ADHD can face are:
Time management: Struggling to prioritise tasks and stick to schedules.
Organisation: Difficulty keeping track of belongings, tasks, or information.
Focus: Easily distracted and trouble maintaining attention on tasks (especially the boring ones!)
Emotional sensitivity: Intense emotions, spiralling, and feeling overwhelmed.
Impulsivity: Acting based on impulse or ‘feeling’ without thinking considering the ripple effects.
Memory: Can often forget appointments, tasks, or details. Characterised by having a ‘poor working memory’.
Task initiation: Procrastination, trouble starting and finishing tasks, even important ones.
Executive function: Planning and thinking ahead, decision-making, and following through on long-term goals.
Self-esteem: Struggling with confidence due feeling incapable, ‘different’ or like an ‘outsider’.
Social relationships: Difficulty communicating, eye contact, boundaries, or feeling misunderstood.
